Is Lovable good for production? It can be, with a review.
Is Lovable good for production? Yes, when the app is simple and low risk, and you’ve reviewed it. For apps with sensitive data or critical functions, Lovable itself recommends an additional professional security review, and says you’re responsible for your app’s security. As of 5 November 2026, it offers security scans, code export and custom domains. We’re an agency, so weigh our view accordingly.

What Lovable’s own pages say
| Question | What it says |
|---|---|
| Is it secure? | Its tools “support secure application development, but they do not replace a thorough security review”, and they “cannot guarantee complete security” |
| Who’s responsible? | “You are responsible for ensuring that your app meets the security requirements appropriate for its use case” |
| What gets scanned? | A quick scan on publish covers database access rules, known npm vulnerabilities and unauthenticated MCP servers. A deep scan, which doesn’t run automatically as you work, reviews code for issues in access control, injection, secrets, payments and more |
| Can I get my code? | Two-way GitHub sync, and codebase download on paid plans |
| Who owns it? | Its terms say you own your projects and AI output, subject to third-party rights |
| Custom domain? | On paid plans, with Pro from $25 a month for 100 credits |

Is Lovable good for production? A checklist for your app
Is Lovable good enough for your app? Go through these. If you can’t answer one, that’s where to get help.
- Can one user see another’s data?Test this with two accounts, and try changing IDs in the address bar. Then ask someone to check the database rules.
- What happens when a payment fails?Test failed cards, cancellations and refunds, as well as a successful checkout.
- Is your code in your own GitHub?Connect it now, so that you have a copy outside the platform.
- Can you restore your data?Find out how backups work, and try a restore before you need one.
- Have you run the deep scan?It doesn’t run on its own. Run it and fix the critical issues before launch.
- Has a person read the risky parts?A few hours from a developer on login, permissions and billing is cheap insurance.
Common questions
It can build a working SaaS. Whether it’s ready depends on your data, your risk and your review. A simple tool may be fine. A product holding health or financial data needs a professional review, as Lovable says itself.
Export it to GitHub and ask a developer whether to keep or rebuild. See [what to do with a prototype that’s outgrown the tool](/saas-mvp-development/vs-lovable).
Its terms give it a licence to use customer data, including for training models, and say you can opt out for future use. Check your settings and the current terms.
